YEAR 6 WINNER - GAIA V.

Jenny, Mike and Norris were walking down the street. In the distance a girl was walking toward them. The girl bumped into Jenny and made her purse fall. She continued walking without apologising. Mike got mad and grabbed the girl by the arm.

“Apologise, jerk!” – but this was a mistake. The girl revealed her face. It was covered in bandages. You could only see her mouth. Black blood came down the bandages. With a fast move, Mike’s head was rolling on the floor.

After a few seconds even Norris was lying on the ground without life.

The girl cornered Jenny in a corner. She put her finger on the mouth.
“Shhh… come to hell with me…” and with that she smirked and poked Jenny’s eyes with her long nails. Moments later Jenny was dead too. The girl smiled.

“The princess must have fun sometimes…” and she disappeared.

YEAR 7 WINNER - LORENZO

The Louvre Thieves

It was an October night, there was a deep silence in Paris.
The Seine was calm and still without even a ripple.
Even ducks where silent.
Everything was so peaceful.
At midnight two men approached the Louvre museum.
Their names were Denzel and Marcel. They were thieves but not very skilled ones. They wore black clothes and scary Halloween masks bought in a Halloween shop.

"Shut up Denzel," whispered Marcel.
"You said that last time too," replied Denzel, "and we stole a plastic statue, not the real one!"
"That was a small mistake," said Marcel. That night their goal was to steal “The Mona Lisa”, one of the most famous paintings in the world, Denzel and Marcel wanted to bring it back to Italy!
They entered through a small door, Marcel had paid a guard with croissants to keep it open. The museum was dark and cold. The light seemed to make the statues alive.

Their eyes seemed to follow the two thieves.
"Do you think they are watching us?" asked Denzel.
"Don't be silly," said Marcel "they’re just statues"

After, they heard a noise. Clink!
Denzel froze. "Marcel, did that statue just move?"
"Of course not" said Marcel.
They started walking again. Suddenly they heard a soft laugh. The paintings on the wall seemed to look different, almost alive.

A voice said, "You shouldn’t be here!" Denzel shouted. His torch illuminated the Mona Lisa. Her smile seemed bigger.

"Marcel," he whispered "she’s smiling at me!"

"She always smiles," Marcel replied angrily. Suddenly, she spoke, "Thieves of the Louvre, are you coming to me or am I coming to you?"

The two men screamed and tried to run away, the paintings whispered, the museum was very noisy. They searched for the museum’s exit door but they couldn’t find it. "Maybe she wants us to stay," said Denzel. "No way," shouted Marcel.

After numerous attempts Denzel and Marcel managed to escape. The city was calm again. Marcel and Denzel agreed not to steal art anymore, they would instead steal croissants!

They started to walk near the Seine but suddenly Denzel felt something heavy in his bag. He opened it, it was a small painting of the Mona Lisa with a mocking smile!

YEAR 8 WINNER - BENEDETTA

The haunted house

Me and my three friends Jordan, Emily, Marcus, decided to go to the old scary house on the hill. Everyone in town said it was haunted, but we didn’t believe it. It was the night of Halloween and we finished trick or treating, and we were bored, so we all went to the haunted house. We brought flashlights and some snacks from the trick or treating. The path was muddy and creepy, and there was fog and the moon looked like it was watching us.

We finally arrived on top of the hill, but when we arrived the door was already open.

Jacob said, “Maybe there is someone inside.” But Emily said “it’s impossible, no one has lived here since 1965.” As we entered, I saw a shadow, but I ignored it, thinking it was only my imagination.

There was a big staircase, so we went upstairs. We found an open room, we entered and inside there was a big broken mirror, Marcus looked in it and screamed. He said he saw a girl without eyes staring at him.

We laughed, but then the door slammed shut and our flashlights went out. We all stared at our flashlights. Now we were scared. We tried to open the door, but it was blocked, as if someone on the other side was holding it.

We heard a whisper of a little girl that said: “Get out… or stay forever”. We were kicking the door, and after a few minutes it finally opened. We ran downstairs, but strangely the stair became a slide that brought us to a basement. It was so dark that we couldn’t see anything, and there was a disgusting smell of dirt and death.

I fortunately found a candle and a match. The wall had writing in red on it, it looked like blood, and there was written “YOU CAME TOO FAR”. Then we heard footsteps. But no one was there. Just the sound, getting closer and closer. Marcus started crying and I didn’t blame him.

Then at one point, the candle blew out, and we heard a wicked laugh, like a clown. We just ran in the dark, and somehow Jacob  bumped into a ladder. He went before me, Marcus and Emily, but something grabbed Emily’s leg.

She kicked and screamed and finally went out. We were finally free and we all ran back home. Now we never talk about that night. But sometimes I hear whispers in my room, and now my mirror has cracks in it that weren’t there before. I think the girl followed me. I think she’s waiting.
