The Chatterbox school calendar is very similar to the British one, although perfectly respecting the rules of the Italian Ministry of Education.

The Italian school year conventionally begins around mid-September and ends in the first ten days of June, while the British one begins on early September and ends in the third week of July.

It might seem that British students enjoy fewer days of vacation than their Italian peers, but their holidays are simply distributed differently throughout the year.

In fact, in addition to the usual Christmas, Easter and summer holidays, the so-called half term holidays are also included in the UK calendar, one during the autumn and one during the spring, approximately one week at the end of October and one in mid-February.

This scheme comes from the English educational methodology, which provides a break every 6/7 weeks of school to make the children's workload lighter and give them the opportunity to rest during the school year.

This also allows families to plan their trips in the best possible way at predetermined times, avoiding absence from school.

As Chatterbox is a British-style international school, we try to adhere to the UK calendar as much as possible and schedule our school holidays to best suit our vision. We are able to do so thanks to the flexibility granted to “paritarie” schools by the Italian Ministry of Education.

For this reason, our students and teachers will enjoy a week of "half term" vacation from February 28th to March 4th and will thus have the opportunity to recharge their batteries and manage their work with more serenity. Perhaps they’ll choose to enjoy a few days of winter sports as well!

Consequently, we anticipate the start and postpone the end of school with respect to the dates set for Italian schools.
