Chatterbox follows the Italian system, which includes 3 years of pre-school; however, it recognises the importance of a year of continuity between pre-school and primary school years. Therefore, Reception – which in the U.K. is the first year of primary school – in Chatterbox constitutes a fundamental link between pre-school years and the start of primary school. It is located in the primary building allowing the child to get used to being in a bigger school, making the transition to primary school less daunting.

The reception curriculum is enriched through focused learning on P.E., literacy, numeracy, Chinese language and music.
